This program is intended to introduce and reintroduce the Civil Society Internet Governance Caucus to the participants at the IGF. We discuss the origins of the caucus, it current status and the work being done by caucus participant in planning and organizing the IGF meetings and workshops.


Background on he Internet Governance Caucus (30 Minutes)

- Setting the context: WSIS, the IGC and how we got to the IGF

Presented by former IGC coordinators Adam Peake and Jeanette Hofmann

- Status of the IGC today

Presented by transition coordinator - avri


Discussion on the IGF (30 minutes)

- Update from Civil Society members of the IGF Advisory Group and the Special Advisors to the IGF Chair on IGF Advisory Group activities (10 minutes)

One or two of those nominated by the IGC

- Q&A with MAG/SAG members (20 minutes)

Will try to get as may of on stage for the Q&A as possible

Questions that have come up in the Governance list discusion will be given to the MAGSAG members


Discussion on the content of th Athens meeting (30 minutes)

- Open discussion on the issues that are of interest and priority to CS participants – Karen Banks (moderator)
